Before reading further with troubleshooting, please make sure that you actually have created an account on our site.

The most common causes for login trouble:

  1. You forgot your password
  2. Cookies are not enabled or restricted (see below)
  3. You are not typing the email address you used to create your account OR are having a typo error
  4. CACHING by your browser of the incorrect (or with typo) Email or Password
  5. Firewall use and Browser Security Settings too HIGH
  6. You forgot the password and your email address has changed, so you can't receive it when sent to you
  7. You forgot everything, not sure what email you have used nor what password
  8. Cookie is corrupted

You forgot your password

No problem. Simply enter the email address that you have used for your username and we will send your password within a minute. This must be the email address, you designated as your user-email. The password will only be sent to that address. Use the link provided on the login page.

I'm continually prompted for my password / the system keeps looping me to the same page:

If you are experiencing looping problems you will need to enable "cookies"

Username/Password OK, but still can't login.

By default all web browsers accept cookies and work properly with all sites. However, some users may choose to disable cookies or use 3rd party privacy software that frequently deletes or blocks cookies among other things. Cookies are an essential component in web development and are absolutely neccessary to perform online authorizations, e-commerce and many other things. In order to use the site, you MUST accept our login cookie that identifies you as a valid customer. This cookie also contains your encrypted password, allowing you to enter the site without having to login on every visit.

Internet Explorer 6 offers a Privacy tab that allows you to select a privacy level and/or block cookies for all or selected sites. If you have changed these settings from the default, you may have "locked yourself out" by not accepting our login cookie. This would cause you to be returned to the login page immediately.

If this is the case, please follow the instructions below and add "stampfrancisco.com" to the "Always accept" settings in Internet Explorer. This will fix your problem and assure that your login and all other customization features will work properly.

If you are using any 3rd party privacy software to block cookies, please refer to the vendor's instructions on "always accepting" certain cookies. Every good privacy tool will have an option for that.

Some Windows-Internet Explorer users continue to report being returned to the login page when trying to log in to https://www.stampfrancisco.com

The problem seem inherent to users of Internet Explorer 6 in combination with Window XP... if you Google for login problem with Explorer 6... the web is full of other sites and users having the same problem!

Mistyping login passwords and the use of firewall applications which disallow cookies and referring URLs from being accessed are the two most common problems reported by users.

Here's how to solve these problems:

Incorrect Password Caching

User: Can't login in IE, but can login if given a different login/password or using another browser.

Problem: Incorrect UserID/Password caching in browser's password manager. User attempted to login previously, mistyped their Email/Password, and chose to save this incorrect login in their browser's password manager when prompted, "Do you want IE/NS to remember this login for this site?" Now, when that user tries to login, their browser is pulling that stored password from the profile it created and auto-completing the login email address and password fields with the wrong login.

Troubleshooting: First, verify that your account Login Email and Password is correct. Go the Stampfrancisco.com login page, stampfrancisco.com and completely delete the email and password values already filled in. You should then re-enter your email and password. Ensure that it's indeed correct.

Once you have successfully logged in, you can delete the stored profile that contains the incorrect login by opening your browser's password manager:

Internet Explorer 6: Tools > Internet Options > Content > AutoComplete > Clear Passwords
More detailed how-to below.

Netscape 7: Tools > Password Manager > Manage Stored Passwords >Find the kslc.org site and click remove

We suggest trying the following options in order until the problem is resolved

  1. While in Internet Explorer Click on Tools > Internet Options
  2. Click on the Security tab
  3. Click on Trusted sites
  4. Click on the Site... button
  5. Type in stampfrancisco.com and remove the check by "Requires server verification (https:) for all sites in the zone"
  6. Click Ok
  7. Click on the Advanced tab
  8. Click Restore defaults
  9. Remove the check by "Enable third-party browser extenstions (requires restart)"
  10. Click on the General tab
  11. Click on Delete Cookies and Delete files under Temporary Internet Files
  12. Click Apply then Ok
  13. Close all browser windows and restart

(adapted from Dartmouth University's FAQ):

  1. Press the "Refresh" or "Reload" button on your browser. (To do a "force-refresh", hold the Shift key while pressing the Refresh/Reload button.).
  2. Quit your browser, restart your browser, and attempt to log in to Stampfrancisco again.
  3. Empty your browser's cache (temporary Internet files)
    • Internet Explorer (Windows XP)
      • select Tools > Internet Options
      • in the General tab, press the "Delete Files" button, put a check mark in the "Delete all offline content" box, and press OK
    • Internet Explorer (Mac OS X):
      • select Explorer > Preferences
      • under "Web Browser", click the "Advanced" option in the left-hand window
      • press the "Empty Now" button, then OK
    • Safari (Mac OS X):
      • select Safari > Empty Cache
  4. Check your browser's security settings. Some browsers, such as Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP, can cause problems in Stampfrancisco when the browser's security settings are set too high. Try changing to a "Medium" security level. [For Internet Explorer 6 in Windows XP, go to Tools > Internet Options > Security.]
  5. Try a different browser. Many alternate browsers are available for download such as Firefox, Mozilla, or Opera.

User: I'm using a firewall and can login to the Stampfrancisco.com, but not to some areas.

Problem: By default, most personal firewall applications like Norton Internet Security will block the referring URL from being seen by the web server.

Troubleshooting: Please refer to your firewall documentation for "Creating/customizing security rules." Disabling the firewall temporarily while using the site will also work.

In addition, if you have configured your web browser to not accept cookies or reject all scripting, then you'll need to change those settings as well to be able to login in to your account.

Login ID must be an e-mail address

The username must be in form of an e-mail address. It is the email address that you selected when creating your account. For example joe@earthlink.com or joe@aol.com etc.

You forgot the password and your email address has changed

You will have to contact us, by using this form and we will manually look up your password and send it to you. This may take up to 24 hours, depending on the time of day, usually however a lot faster. Select "locate account" from the subjects list and explain in the text that your email address has changed and that you forgot your password.

    You forgot everything

    Your cookie has become corrupted

Sometimes a cookie can become corrupt and will not return the correct value.
